The Old Friday Mosque of Raa Meedhoo is one of the island’s most treasured historical landmarks. Believed to have been built around 1705, the coral stone mosque has served the community for more than 300 years and remains a remarkable example of traditional Maldivian craftsmanship and architecture. Renowned for its intricate coral stone masonry, lacquered woodwork, and historic cemetery, the mosque is part of the Coral Stone Mosques of the Maldives on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List, recognizing its outstanding cultural and historical significance.
